After completion of this training and certification program, operators and inspectors will meet the OSHA and ASME competency and qualification requirements. Also, this program enables companies to perform their own in-house crane inspections, which include the OSHA required Daily, Monthly and Annual Inspections as well as the ASME Periodic Inspections.

Certification Requirements
Operator Certification Requirements
- Pass a physical examination. A CDL physical is acceptable.
- Complete a Crane Institute of America Tower Crane Operator & Inspector training program.
- Pass a written examination.
- Pass a practical examination if possessing less than 2 years operating experience.
Inspector Certification Requirements
- Complete a Crane Institute of America Tower Crane Operator & Inspector training program.
- Pass a written examination.
- Have 3 years experience working in a capacity of operation, maintenance, repair, inspection, safety or supervision of tower cranes.
A trainee certification is available for personnel who do not meet operator/inspector experience requirements.
