For operators, inspectors and other personnel who require a thorough knowledge of overhead and gantry cranes, monorail systems and hoists. This program enables companies to perform their own in-house crane inspections, which include the OSHA required Monthly and Periodic Inspections. Training and certification also ensure that operators and inspectors meet the OSHA and ASME competency and qualification requirements.

Certificate Requirements
Operator Certification Requirements
- A doctor’s statement for a recent physical examination. (Applicable to cab operated cranes only.)
- Complete a Crane Institute of America Overhead Crane Operator & Inspector training program.
- Pass a written examination.
- Have a minimum of 1 year operating experience as the designated operator of overhead and/or gantry cranes.
Inspector Certification Requirements
- Complete a Crane Institute of America Overhead Crane Operator & Inspector training program.
- Pass a written examination.
- Have 3 years experience working in a capacity of operation, maintenance, repair, inspection, safety or supervision with overhead cranes.
A trainee certification is available for personnel who do not meet operator/inspector experience requirements.
